Summer Academy Meeting opportunities still available

The Academy is making final preparations for its 2011 Summer Academy Meeting, to be held Aug. 3-7 in New York. We look forward to thanking our Corporate Partners in person for their support of the Academy and the programs they help make possible through their generosity. There are still Summer Academy Meeting opportunities available, which may be found in the Partnering Opportunities booklet.

Planned giving now creates a strong future

Just as Sustaining Fund contributions ensure that our current programs continue to grow, providing countless benefits for members, patients and the public; a future gift to the Academy will provide secure funding to ensure that dermatology continues to be a vital specialty with a strong and unified voice, creating positive change through education and service.

Bequests are the most common form of planned gift, but there are many other types of gifts to consider. The Academy’s Development website includes comprehensive information about planned giving options, including features that allow you to compare different types of planned gifts, gift calculators, and other valuable resources that will help you select a gift that benefits you or your family, as well as the Academy.

New program offers support to Academy faculty

The Academy is creating a new educational activity for Academy members serving as educational planners and speakers, titled ABCs of Accredited CME. Supported by Astellas Pharma US, Inc., the ABCs of CME will be a series of web-based units that address the educational development needs of clinician CME planners and speakers. Each module, 12-15 minutes in length, will be certified by the AAD for 0.25 AMA PRA credit, and a total of 10 modules is currently planned. Watch our website for more news on this new program.

Healthy kids, healthy skin

KidsSkinHealth.org is an interactive website where kids can play games and learn fun facts about skin, hair and nails. Help educate children and their parents about the importance of skin, hair and nail care by placing a downloadable logo like the one below at your practice or company website!
